Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is a form of Pilates developed by medical and healthcare professionals based upon Joseph Pilates original Classical design.
Clinical Pilates has a modern approach to exercise to allow for greater inclusivity of a wider range of the population. For example, for those with:
Limited flexibility
Back pain
Neck pain
Joint pain
Medical conditions. For example, Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s or Hypermobility.
Sports injuries / or those training for a sporting event
Balance issues
Regular practise of Clinical Pilates can be used in many different circumstances to assist and support pain and injury recovery and rehabilitation, prevention of injury, and for improving performance within a given task whether that’s being able to play a game of rugby or play your favourite boardgame.
Even though there are many branches of Pilates, the key aims of Pilates tend to be synonymous: Improve function through mobility, flexibility, strength and control of movement, increase bodily awareness through mind-body connection, and to retrain efficient movement patterns through movement re-education.
